Galina Semenova is an award-winning, self-taught Fine Art Portrait Photographer. She relocated to the United States in 2009 and currently resides in San Diego, California.

Photographic Journey

With over 20 years of experience in various photography genres, Galina developed a deep passion for capturing people's stories. She is not merely interested in creating beautiful portraits; she seeks to capture the spirit's freshness and wonder.

Art as a Healing Path

Gala's art serves as a healing path for pain, depression, abuse, suicidal thoughts, and deep-rooted traumas she has experienced in her life. Through her portraits, she recognizes and reflects the inner beauty and resilience of every human being, providing a space for recognition, healing, and empowerment.

Inspiration and Vision

Sensitive to the world around her, Galina identifies as a 'collector of sensations,' using these as inspiration for her work. Her art, inspired by colors, emotions, and feelings, explores common human experiences like self-acceptance, love, and personal and collective traumas. Galina believes her art can positively impact people's lives, fostering hope, love, and awakening.

Intermedia Photography

Recently, Galina has shown a growing interest in Intermedia Photography. This approach allows her to move freely between media and merge with other areas of the visual arts, enabling her to express her visionary stories beyond pure photography.

Awards and Exhibitions

In the past five years, Galina has received international recognition for her portrait-focused art. Her work has been showcased worldwide in numerous group exhibitions, including at the FotoNostrum Gallery. She was also a part of the 6th edition of the Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography in Barcelona, Spain. In 2022, she was a Single Image Winner of an International photography award from the British Journal of Photography and 1854, Female in Focus, a platform championing exceptional women photographers globally.
